AND THEIR FAMILIES
Cedar Crest Camp
November 22-24, 2019
Lt. Col. Paul Ramsey, a chaplain at Ft. Campbell, Ky, home of the 101st Airborne and many other military units, is assisting us in recruiting 5 soldiers who have recently returned from war, and their families, for our first ever FALL FAMILY CELEBRATION. Here is the announcement he is distributing:
WITH EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPY TO DEAL WITH THE PROSPECTS OF PTSD, FAMILY COMMUNICATION AND TRUST
SPECIAL CHILDREN’S CAMP ACTIVITIES
FAMILY BONFIRE, MUSIC AND STORYTELLING
HHHVets is sponsoring a pre-Thanksgiving event at beautiful 500-acre Cedar Crest Camp, https://cedarcrestcamp.org/about/location/ near Lyles, TN, beginning the afternoon and evening of Friday, November 22, and ending Sunday afternoon, November 24, 2019.
THIS ENTIRE CELEBRATION IS OFFERED AT ABSOLUTELY NO COST TO SERVICE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES
THIS EVENT IS LIMITED TO 5 FAMILIES OF RECENTLY RETURNED SOLDIERS.
All equine activity is ground-work only. This is not horseback riding, but rather a chance for the adults to each spend time getting to know their equine partners, which are rescued horses who also have PTSD type issues.
Families will stay in lodges at the camp, enjoy family style home-cooked meals, and indoor and outdoor camp activities. Adults will participate in PTSD and related therapy with specially trained rescued horses, under the guidance of acclaimed Equine Assisted Psychotherapist Dede Beasley https://www.dedetherapy.com
This will be a chance for these couples and families to reconnect, to have fun, and to examine some of the issues that returning soldiers deal with after deployment to dangerous parts of the world.
HEROES AND HORSES HEALING (HHHvets) https://www.hhhvets.org is a Nashville-based non-profit offering free services veterans and their families to cope with the effects of combat and other service-related trauma, as well as family stress connected with deployment of a loved one. We were formed to assist veterans and their families who are coping with PTSD.
